Be it the European or US version, the Volumex or Pininfarina, the CS0, CS1, CS2, AS, BS, DS0 or DS1—our convertible roof fits all models of the Fiat 124 Spider from 1967 to 1985.
When ordering, all you have to do is check the chassis number or the model year.
The early models of the Spider have a small, pointed corner in front of the linkages. We note this in the form of a 1 ("Version CS1").
The later versions of the Fiat Spider had a round shaped linkage at the front corners (round like the number “2”, so "Version CS2").
Theoretically, the rounded CS2 version of the roof would also fit on the supporting frame of the previous model if the small tips on the linkage were subsequently rounded off.

Sonnenland fabric is made up of three layers and has a rubber layer in addition to the synthetic outer fabric and the cotton rear side.
This middle layer ensures that no moisture can penetrate.
Waterproofing agents are therefore not required, but can be useful in the case of the Fiat 124 Spider with a light-colored roof.
Light-colored fabrics (such as beige, which is popular with the Spider), absorb dirt in the rain more easily than black. Due to the waterproof layer, the rain simply rolls off.

The plasticizers allowed in the materials produced today are no longer comparable with those of the past.
For this reason, the durability of a fabric roof is generally longer.

Our Fiat tops are made with a 1-mm-thick, clear PVC window (just like the original).

Our windows are delivered with window protectors on both sides that protect the window during transport and installation.
Most manufacturers either do not protect the window at all or simply attach a fleece with adhesive tape. This can leave residue on the fabric.

Our convertible roof corners are reinforced with small metal plates to prevent the rear corners of the convertible roof from bending upwards, as typically happens.
The channel for the lateral tensioning cables is provided with metal eyelets. This prevents the cable from chafing through the fabric.
The seals above the side windows made of synthetic leather are lined with high quality foam in our roof.

Almost all convertible roofs have tensioning cables above the side window.
These ensure that the Spider canopy is tensioned accordingly and pulled to the frame on the sides. This not only leads to a perfect fit, but also minimizes wind noise in the Fiat.
At first glance, the cables on the Spider may still look undamaged. Please always check whether individual strands of the wire cables have broken. If they have, we recommend replacement.
Buy tonneau cover for the Fiat 124 Spider
The "cover for the convertible roof support rod" or the tonneau cover or dust cover of a convertible ensures that the convertible roof of the Fiat Spider is protected when driving.
It does not flutter in the air stream and does not pick up any dirt.
