10 features of a high-quality soft top
1. Fabric
We use the highest quality material on the market for our hood fabric, which almost all European original equipment manufacturers use for their vehicles: Sonnenland.
It is 100% waterproof and doesn’t fade, even after many years. There are many imitation materials on the market, some of which lose their color after a short time or become porous and tear.
2. Details
The devil is in the details! When it comes to the details, saving on manhours and material also means saving on quality. For the untrained eye, this is usually not apparent and only becomes noticeable after installation, once a few months or, in the best case, years have passed.
Manufacturers can easily save 100 euros in production costs on the side reinforcements of a BMW E30 hood alone.
3. Fit
Creating hoods that fit 100% requires many versions and countless trial installations. Our patterns have been perfected over many years and are constantly checked by our in-house upholstery workshop.
4. Cut
With hood fabric, you can easily save triple-digit amounts in manufacturing if you don't pay attention to the fabric’s grain direction. This can lead to problems during installation as well as color differences due to the different viewing angles of the “warp and weft” of the thread.
5. Window material
Due to the fact that the demand for PVC discs is no longer growing strongly, manufacturers are no longer investing in new machines. Many panes emerge from production already scratched and are still sold to the manufacturers. We sort out about 30% and process only perfect panes.
6. Window protection during shipping and installation
Instead of a simple paper or tape-fixed protection, we sew a fabric onto the panes by hand (additional effort of up to 20 minutes). This is done after the final inspection, so that the protection cannot slip during transport and installation, and also no residues of adhesive tape can be seen.
7. Experienced staff
We rely on experienced, permanent employees. Most of our colleagues have been with us for more than 15 years, some even for more than 30 years. We also make sure that new employees have the appropriate experience and get to know all areas at EUROTOP in the first few months.
8. Zubehör
Zu einem Verdeck gehört meistens auch Zubehör wie Spannseile oder Dichtungen. Für viele Modelle bieten wir vergünstigtes Originalzubehör an oder lassen dies originalgetreu nachfertigen. Beispielsweise können nicht gewechselte Spanngurte dafür sorgen, dass das neue Verdeck im Gestänge eingeklemmt und beschädigt wird.
9. Production
Production takes place exclusively in our factory in Frickenhausen, Germany. Our seamstresses do not work on a piece-rate basis, but have enough time to finish work to a high standard so that all seams are straight and accurate.
