Why is the plastic window pane on my convertible top becoming opaque?
The softeners in plastics dissolve over time and move to the surface of the PVC pane. Sunlight and other environmental influences also accelerate this process. The discoloration can be yellow, brown or even black, depending on the intensity and angle of the sunlight on the rear window. The diffused plasticizers also act as an adhesive for fine dust or soot particles. Since this discoloration of the plastic window pane is unfortunately not only external, but penetrates into the material, it is almost impossible to completely remove it with household cleaning agents.
The solution for opaque convertible top window panes!
So that you get a clear view again without having to change your rear window, we recommend using our window polish for PVC windows. When using the polish, the view of the rear window is significantly improved and, depending on the condition, completely restored. The transparent window polish cleans existing scratches, removes stains and cleans the rear window of your convertible. It can also be used for:
- Acrylic window panes
- Perspex window panes
- Plastic window panes
How do I use the window pane polish on my convertible rear window?
Shake the bottle well. Put some Renovo plastic polish on a soft cotton cloth and rub into the surface of the PVC pane of your convertible top, applying light pressure. For best results, treat small areas of the plastic, using fresh product. Let the polish dry and use a clean cotton cloth to remove the excess polish on the PVC rear window of the convertible top. Repeat this process several times until the desired result is achieved. Please always ensure that the polish does not get onto the convertible top's fabric so that no unsightly edges are created (e.g. by taping the top at the edge of the window)
