Does your rear window glass come off your convertible top?

Does your rear window glass come off your convertible top?

- EUROTOP will solve your problem!

Why doesn't the rear window come off in our convertible tops?

Original method:

In original convertible tops by the car manufacturer, the convertible top is fitted directly on the glass pane by a special glue. Thus, any tension on the convertible top directly impacts the glass pane.

The older the convertible top gets, the drier the glue that fastens the glass pane to the convertible top becomes. The adhesive becomes brittle over time and the glass pane will gradually come off. This coming off of the glass pane is inevitable over the years. Therefore, we use convertible tops which prevent this by employing a special method.

Repairing the glass pane?

Of course, you can go to the workshop and reattach your car’s rear pane. However, this is not a long-term solution as the rear window will come off again after a while.

Which convertible tops face this problem frequently?

The method we follow for convertible top rear windows:

We use a frame between the glass pane and the top fabric. This reduces the tension exerted on the fabric, as it is distributed over the frame. This adhesive also becomes dry and brittle over time, but the window does not come off the convertible top because the fabric is not in direct contact with the glass pane.
