Mustang hood made of fabric
We supply the Ford Mustang hoods in original materials. For the earlier Mustang models, the Sunfast material was originally fitted and this corresponds to the German-made material "Sonnenland Classic". These materials are similar with regard to the elasticity and thickness of the material.
The later soft tops for the Ford Mustang were manufactured with Twillfast, which corresponds to the Sonnenland A5 fabric.
Generally, the cabriolet hood materials have three layers and, as a result, are waterproof. The middle rubber layer of the fabric ensures that no moisture can seep into the convertible.
A waterproofing agent is therefore not required. However, it can be worth applying a waterproofing agent to your Ford Mustang hood if the convertible is outside for long periods. This prevents the dirty rainwater from collecting in the hood material.
Mustang hood made of PVC
The variant made of PVC or vinyl is also very popular and widely available.
You should consider, however, that today’s PVC material is not as soft or durable as that of 30 or 40 years ago. Many of the plasticizers that were previously contained in the hood materials are now banned.

The rear window panes of the Ford Mustang were available in many different designs.

For the earlier models, typically both versions are available. Here you can choose between the hood with glass pane and the hood with PVC pane.
